Ronald Knaus, Director of Environmental Research and Board Member

Ron move to Nevada County in 1995 to assume stewardship of the Harmony Ridge Tree Farm in Nevada City. He looks after 95 acres of Ponderosa Pine, Incense Cedar, Douglas Fir, White Fir, and Sugar Pine trees. Ron and his wife Nancy moved to Nevada County from Baton Rouge, LA, where Ron was a professor at Louisiana State University. He taught graduate courses in Radiobiology, Radioecology and Undergraduate courses in Nuclear Science, and Radioisotope Methodology.

Ron has a BA in Biology from San Jose State University, with an MA in Science Education. His Radiobiology Ph.D is from Oregon State University.

His Current Affiliations include California Sierra Foothills Audubon Society, Forest Landowners of California Board, Sierra Nevada Mining and Industrial Council, Native Sons of the Golden West, and Rotary International, Nevada City Chapter, past board member
