SIERRA ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES FOUNDATION

"Reasoned thinking should be based on good analysis not constrained by ideology."

  • The purpose:

Sierra Environmental Studies Foundation was created to bring reason and clarity to the issues facing Nevada County so government leaders can craft effective solutions based upon reliable information, verifiable data, and non-partisan analysis.

  • The goals:

To translate fact-based research and public data into actionable information through detailed analysis, presentations and publications. To become a community resource for vital public issue debates.

  • The work:

An informed electorate understands how government decisions affect our daily lives personally, economically, and as a cohesive society. Within its resources SESF will collect the data and do the research required to produce timely information products on specific issues. This output will be disseminated to county governments, interested organizations, and the media to foster a balanced awareness in the shaping of public policy.

  • The board:

George Rebane, PhD, Director of Research

Mike McDaniel, AAMS, Executive Director, and Director of Public Relations

Russ Steele, Lt Col USAF (Ret), Director of Information
